A Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Garden Event
Monthly Plant Sale
Third Saturday, 10 am - noon
Note: This information is from the event archive and is no longer current.
The Garden opens its nursery to the public every 3rd Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. until Noon for plant sales. Most plants are priced at $8.00 for a 1-gallon pot and $15.00 for a 3-gallon pot. Members receive a 15% discount. Disabled persons will be accommodated.
The Key West Botanical Garden Nursery provides plants for Conservation use, education opportunities, and sales. Native plants, including many which are threatened and endangered, are grown for Garden replacement, for education purposes, as a training opportunity, for sales, and introduction or reintroduction to sites in the Florida Keys. The inventory stands at approximately 1500 plants.
The Nursery is now a focal point of the Key West Botanical Garden. It uses the synergy of our volunteers (Companions, Guardians, Docents), propagation, education and grant programs. This combination of efforts has allowed the Nursery to become a part of Key West and Keys community. The Nursery reaches out to Civics class students from HOB, high school student volunteers, referrals from City Urban Reforestation, and relationships with other Botanical Societies.
