The Key West Tropical Forest and Botanical Garden will be the place for two very “batty shows” this coming weekend.

On Friday night, April 15th, at 730pm, Cyndi and George Marks, from the Florida Bat Center, will give a presentation on “everything you wanted to know about bats, but were afraid to ask and see!” They will also talk about the rare bat sighting of “Stinky Phil” the Cuban fig- eating bat that now resides in the Forest. Live bats will accompany the show along with a slide presentation, bat detection devices and their portable gift shop of bat souvenirs and books.

On Saturday, April 16th at 11 am, kids will have a chance to see live bats up close and personal. Cyndi and George will create a magical experience while educating our youth on these winged creatures. After their show, all children can make a keepsake bat to take home. “Everything you wanted to know about bats, but were afraid to ask and see!”

Refreshments will be available at both events. The public is invited. There is a $3.00 suggested donation for adults and $2.00 for children to help cover costs. This event is produced by the Key West Botanical Garden Society a 501 c 3 not for profit organization.

The Key West Tropical Forest is located at 5210 College Road, Stock Island. Special Migration Mania hours for April are 7:30 AM- 5:30 PM. Coffee and donuts available for “early birders”.
