A Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Garden Event

Natives for Naturalists, Nature Lovers, Neophytes and Newbies!

Saturday, May 22, 10:30 am to 1:30 pm

Whether you are seven or seventy, come out to the garden and enjoy our marvelous array of species native to Florida and the Florida Keys. Docents will be on hand to share information about some of these plants to our visitors. If you are considering additions or changes to your garden, or just curious about native plants in general, come see how they look and how they grow, rather than just looking at pictures in a book or small seedlings in a nursery.

While this event will be geared above the level of toddlers and small children, we still welcome them to come and enjoy our green spaces and butterflies and birds. This event is free to our members, although a minimum donation of $5 requested from all visitors.

Also featuring: Virginia Probert demonstrating the lost art of palm weaving, 10:30 am Saturday, May 22nd in the Courtyard.

She will teach the art beginning at 10:30 Saturday, May 22nd in the Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Garden. Join her for an enriching hour in the Courtyard. You will find her among the palm fronds under the umbrella. Pull up a chair and take an historic journey into the lost art of palm weaving.
